FAQ

Gift cards in, frontier models out — answered

The short version: convert a gift card you won't use into credit for Claude, GPT, Gemini and 36 more models — the rate is shown up front, with no credit card and no coding.

How does converting a gift card to AI credits work?
Pick the card's brand, see the exact rate before entering any details, submit the card, and once it's verified your gc4.ai balance is credited. You spend that one balance on Claude, GPT, Gemini and 38+ models.
What rate will I get for my gift card?
Tier 1 brands convert at 100% of face value, Tier 2 at 85%, and any other brand is Tier 3 — you name the rate you'd accept and a person reviews it. The rate is always shown before you enter any card details.
Is it safe? Do you store my card details?
Card codes are encrypted at rest from the first write and never appear in email. The plaintext is read only to verify the card and confirm its balance — including, for a manual review, by the verification team — and every access is logged. Sign-in is by magic link or passkey — there are no passwords. See /security for the full posture.
What can I spend the credit on?
An OpenAI-compatible API and a hosted chat across 38+ models (Claude, GPT, Gemini and more). One balance, pay per token, no monthly fee.
Do I need a credit card or to write code?
No. You can convert a gift card and use the hosted chat with no credit card and no coding. Developers can also point any OpenAI SDK at gc4.ai by changing one base URL.
Is gc4.ai legit, or is this a scam?
It's a real, independent service — new, and honest about being new. The things a skeptic should check are written down in the open: the exact rate is posted before you enter any card details, nothing is redeemed until the card is verified, every card access is logged, and every balance change is a numbered ledger entry you can see. See /about for who runs it and /security for exactly how your card is handled.
Why do I get locked AI credit instead of cash?
By design. What you receive is gc4.ai credit you spend on models here — it isn't withdrawn, transferred, or paid out as cash. Paying in locked credit rather than cash is what keeps gift-card fraud off the platform: there's nothing to launder and nothing to cash out, which is what lets the posted rates stay honest for everyone converting a card they came by fairly. See /about for the fuller reasoning.
Are there any fees?
No. There are no account fees, no monthly minimums, and no charge to convert a card. You pay the same per-use model rates you'd pay anywhere — the rate posted on the board is the whole deal.
Could the rate change after I start?
No — the rate you see is the rate you get. It's posted before you enter any card details and stamped in at that moment, so the figure you confirm is the figure you're credited. See /convert for each brand's current posted rate.
Which gift cards can I convert?
Every brand gc4.ai accepts is listed at /convert, each with the exact rate posted next to it, so you can check your card before you start. Brands on the posted board convert at their tier's rate; anything else can go through as a Tier 3 offer. Either way a person reviews the card before it's credited.
My card's brand isn't on the list — can I still convert it?
Usually, yes. Anything that isn't on the posted board can go through as a Tier 3 offer, where you name the rate you'd accept and a person reviews it. A declined offer costs nothing, and you're never asked for the card code unless the offer is approved.
How long does verification take?
Many cards are checked automatically the moment you submit them, and your balance is credited as soon as the card is confirmed. If a check is unclear it goes to a person, and you'll hear back within 24 hours either way. Nothing is redeemed until that check passes.
What if my card's balance is less than I entered?
Nothing is credited until you confirm the amount yourself — never a surprise amount. If the verified balance comes back lower than you entered, you're shown the real figure and the dollar amount you'd receive, and it's credited only if you accept it.
Does my gc4.ai credit expire?
Yes — each conversion is good for 12 months from the day it lands in your account. Spending is per token, so a normal balance is easy to use well within that window.
Do I owe taxes on this?
We can't give tax advice, so for your own situation please check with a qualified professional. What we can say plainly is what the product does: you convert a gift card you already own into gc4.ai credit that can only be spent on AI usage here — it's not a cash payout and can't be withdrawn. Your receipt shows the brand, the amount, and what you were credited if you need a record.
Can I dispute a charge or file a chargeback?
There's no card payment to charge back — gc4.ai never takes a credit-card payment from you; you convert a gift card you already hold. If a conversion itself looks wrong, a real person will look: reach support@gc4.ai, and every card access and balance change has a logged record to check against. Separately, if a converted card is later spent or voided within 30 days, the matching credit is reversed.
What happens to my card details after I convert?
The code is encrypted from the first write and is only ever read to verify the card and confirm its balance, with every access logged. It's never shown in your dashboard or an email, and once a conversion is settled there's nothing left to reuse. See /security for the full posture on how codes are stored and handled.
Do I need an account or a password?
You'll have a gc4.ai account, but there are no passwords to set or remember — you sign in with a magic link or a passkey. Converting a card and using the hosted chat needs no credit card and no coding.
Who runs gc4.ai?
A small, independent team — gc4.ai is early-stage, not a marketplace reselling your cards and not a bank. You can read more about who's behind it on /about, and reach a real person any time at /contact or support@gc4.ai.
What happens if my card fails verification — do I get a refund?
If a card fails verification there's nothing to refund: it isn't redeemed until the check passes, so it stays untouched and still spendable. If the verified balance is lower than you entered, nothing is credited until you confirm the exact amount yourself. Once a conversion is credited it's final and pays out as locked AI credit, not cash — so there are no cash refunds by design. If you think a decision is wrong, reach a real person at support@gc4.ai.
